About Us
Orion Women’s Health Centre – Complete Care for Pregnancy and Women’s Imaging
Our team of experienced and compassionate professionals is dedicated to providing you with the highest level of women’s healthcare, tailored to meet your unique needs. We believe in the power of personalized care.
At Orion Women’s Health and Imaging, we are a team of obstetricians and midwives, united by a shared commitment to offering personalized, evidence-based care. Unlike traditional practices, our model ensures that every patient is supported by both an obstetrician and a midwife at every visit. This collaborative approach allows us to provide comprehensive support while fostering strong, trusting relationships with our patients.
We are also committed to reducing the stress and complexity of maternity care. Our in-house imaging services eliminate the need for additional appointments at external radiology providers, saving our patients time, effort, and expense.
For patients wishing to deliver at The George Centre, they do not currently have capabilities to care for babies born less than 34 weeks’ gestation. Both Dr Hollis and Dr Jan have admitting rights at Liverpool public hospital. In the unlikely event that your pregnancy develops complications requiring delivery before 34 weeks’ gestation, they will continue to provide ongoing antenatal care and delivery for you and your baby as their private patient in a public hospital.
Our Team
Dr. Brian Hollis
Originally from South Africa and trained in the UK, Dr. Hollis brings a wealth of experience to our practice. He has dedicated many years to working in feto-maternal units across various tertiary centres, developing expertise in complex and “high-risk” pregnancies. His compassionate care and depth of knowledge make him a valuable resource for our patients and team alike.
Dr. Jan Ardui
Dr. Ardui, originally from Belgium, completed his medical training there before migrating to Australia in 2017. With extensive experience both in Belgium, South Australia (Flinders Medical Centre) and various units in NSW, Dr. Jan has honed his skills in providing exceptional care across a wide spectrum of obstetric needs. Holding a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound from ASUM, he also offers advanced imaging services, including both obstetric and gynaecological ultrasounds, through Orion Women’s Imaging.
Dr Punsiri Gunathilaka
Dr Punsiri Gunathilaka is a highly skilled obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 14 years of comprehensive clinical experience in Australia and Sri Lanka. Drawing on training in both countries, he has developed broad expertise in managing the full spectrum of obstetric and gynaecological conditions.
Before obtaining his overseas specialist qualification, Dr Gunathilaka completed two years of advanced training at Hervey Bay Hospital in Queensland. He subsequently worked as a specialist overseas before returning to Australia to join Campbelltown Hospital, NSW, as a Provisional Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a particular focus on advanced laparoscopic gynaecology. He achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), a testament to his dedication and expertise in the field.
Dr Gunathilaka has a strong interest in teaching and research and has held an appointment as Associate Lecturer at the Rural Clinical School, University of Queensland. His research has been published in peer‑reviewed medical journals, and he has presented his work at national and international scientific meetings.
His clinical interests include the management of high‑risk and low‑risk pregnancies and the treatment of benign gynaecological conditions using medical therapy and minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. He is committed to supporting active labour and vaginal birth where safe, including vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), and values early engagement in pregnancy to individualise each woman’s care plan.
Dr Gunathilaka currently practises at Campbelltown Public Hospital, Campbelltown Private Hospital and The George Centre, Gledswood Hills. He provides comprehensive public obstetric and gynaecological care and offers private obstetric care at The George Centre, while his gynaecological practice is based at Artemis Women’s Health.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and travelling.
His practice philosophy centres on evidence‑based, safe and individualised care, delivered in a respectful, supportive and patient‑centred environment. He warmly welcomes you to his practice and looks forward to caring for you.
